Black Girls Who Paint, "Femininity” - July 2021

Black Girls Who Paint (BGWP) is showcasing “Femininity,” which is an online group exhibition that examines divine femininity, independent of the female body. This exhibition will run from July 1 - August 1, 2021, and will include artworks for purchase online, online programs, artists talks, and studio visits. “Femininity” challenges a western understanding of beauty standards and gender roles. We often think of masculinity being defined by one’s physical attributes and presence. However in comparison, in this exhibition, artists had the opportunity to explore what femininity looks like for them, through their medium of choice. BGWP invites the audience to think outside the box, and conceptualize femininity in their everyday lives.
